Seaside Serenade – Grace & Mario’s Big Island Wedding

Grace and Mario’s Big Island Wedding at Puako Beach was the kind of day that felt joyful from beginning to end. These two first met during their freshman year of college, where they both ran cross country and track.

Friendship came first in their story and dating followed during their junior year. Eventually, Mario proposed while the two were hiking through a state park in Wisconsin. Fast forward to Hawaii, and suddenly their love story had traded running shoes and wooded trails for bright blue water, tropical greenery, and one seriously gorgeous stretch of Big Island coastline.

Their ceremony was sweet, relaxed, and full of personality, but Mario may have won the day when he borrowed their musician’s ukulele and serenaded Grace. Casual. Adorable. Completely unfair to the rest of us.

Surrounded by their loved ones, Grace and Mario exchanged vows with the ocean sparkling behind them before heading down to the shoreline for newlywed portraits. The soft greenery, colorful leis, and brilliant blue Pacific made every moment feel quintessentially Hawaii.

And because the best wedding photos usually involve at least a little willingness to get messy, Grace and Mario finished their celebration splashing through the water together. Bare feet, huge smiles, and zero concern about keeping perfectly dry. It was playful, romantic, and completely them.
