The Outrigger is a historic property six miles south of Kona. Located on lava rock cliffs overlooking Keauhou Bay, This historic Big Island wedding venue was originally a Hawaiian settlement and parts of the original lava rock walls still exist as a part of the 22 oceanfront acres.
If variety and scenery are important to you, this location is an amazing choice. It offers a chapel or grassy lawn location for your ceremony and many amazing photo backdrops from mature gardens to soaring oceanfront cliffs. All accessible for your post ceremony photos.

WHY WE LOVE THIS VENUE:
- You can choose to get married in an air conditioned oceanfront chapel or large oceanfront lawn. The chapel always offers a beautiful rain back up in case of inclement weather.
- This is the only hotel south of the Kona town and it is surrounded by rolling hills and upscale homes, offering a peaceful serene atmosphere.
- Reception dinners and full reception options are available at this location.
- An Onsite Luau is also available as a reception
- Our team will connect you with the hotel for a seamless transition from your ceremony to your reception option.
- You have access to the lush oceanfront resort grounds including dramatic rocky cliffs for your couples photos.

- Although the hotel is oceanfront, there is not sandy beach, but there is plenty of dramatic lava rock near the ocean for photos.

- The location is a great option for your guests as they can choose to stay at the hotel or one of the many other varied accommodations options in the surrounding resort area. Offering flexibility for various budget options.
- An on site reception, cocktail hour, private oceanfront dinner or other food and beverage options can be booked and coordinated directly through the hotel. Our team will ensure a smooth transition.
- There is a great simple option for a reception dinner with a pre-set menu at the award winning Canoe House just steps from the Papakonane Beach ceremony venue.
- This location on the island gets amazing sunsets and consistent weather.
- The package includes two nights for the wedding couple in an oceanview King guest room.

- The Fairmont offers a gorgeous beach ceremony location or if you prefer an oceanfront grassy lawn ( we prefer the beach location for views and privacy)
- The oceanfront resort is a perfect gathering place for you and your guests before and after the ceremony.
- The Waikoloa area has many options for accommodations that can work within many needs and budgets so your guests will have lots of options to stay near your ceremony.
- You can add on a reception booked directly with the hotel. This makes for a seamless transition for you and your guests from ceremony to reception.

- The beach location is next to a public beach and a walking path and although it is not a high traffic area, there will be people walking nearby and could be on the beach.
- This location can be windy
- This location requires food and beverage booked through the hotel for your reception, contact us for details.

It is totally separated from the main hotel walkways and protected by a gate for privacy so you wont have anyone besides your loved ones walking near your ceremony.
- Sunset Cove is an enchanting setting for your wedding ceremony at the water's edge on a cliffside location surrounded by white sand. The mesmerizing backdrop of lava rocks and striking sunset provides an idyllic atmosphere for your special day.

- You don't get much more oceanfront than this!
- The Kona Salt Farm is a unique venue as it makes artisanal salts from deep ocean water. You can arrange a tour before your big day to learn all about the unique process.
- The salt farm has an active liquor license so you can add on a happy hour after your ceremony so your guests can enjoy a sunset beverage while you take your couples photos!
- It's location is a short drive from the hotels and town of Kona, making it an easy trip for your guests.
- It has two air conditioned bridal suites you can add on to your package to "chill" in and change before your ceremony.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- This is a working farm so there is commercial equipment around the property, but not directly in the ceremony area.
- There is little shade, it is a beach front wedding, but there is a small area with shade and tables a short walk from the ceremony area.
- The beach in front of the ceremony area is public, so there is a chance people could walk by your ceremony, but the beach is not a well used or popular beach so this is not a common occurance.
