Some love stories don’t begin with fireworks, they begin with baseball, Bumble, and the unexpected magic of second chances.
Opal and Grantley’s Big Island venue wedding at the Royal Kona Resort was more than just a ceremony. It was the celebration of two hearts and two families becoming one. Grant, the proud owner of Papa’s Plumbing (and a man who is seriously into fishing), met Opal online back in 2019. Opal, a rockstar at EBMUD and full-time MVP mom, knew early that this love felt different. Deeper. Steadier. Forever.
And their wedding? Let’s just say: it was absolutely perfect.

Set on the stunning shores of the Big Island, the same place they fell in love with on their first-ever Hawaii trip earlier this year, Opal and Grant looked like a couple straight out of a love story. Opal was radiant in white, glowing with happiness. Grant was cool, collected, and clearly smitten, his smile said everything. His eyes lit up when he saw her! And if you’re wondering just how romantic Grant is, he proposed on the baseball diamond, at home plate, in front of their whole community!
But the best part? The kids. Opal’s kids Olivia (16), Connor (10), and Grant’s twins, August and Scarlett (9), stood proudly beside them. This wasn’t just a wedding, it was a blending of families, a declaration of unity, and a tribute to the love they all share.

Their oceanfront ceremony at Nohea Point at the Royal Kona Resort was nothing short of breathtaking. Tucked beneath swaying palms and fronting the sparkling blue Pacific, the setting felt like it had been plucked from a postcard and handed directly to them, protected, peaceful, and intimate, yet buzzing with joy from their beloved family and friends.
From the gorgeous tropical florals to the peaceful privacy, their wedding day was intimate, emotional, and filled with island magic. For two people who cherish fishing and family above all else, this ceremony was the perfect beginning to their happily ever after. Their ceremony was full of tradition, blessings, and most of all, an unwavering devotion to one another.

And let’s talk about those photos! The kiss under the thatched-roof hale with the ocean glowing behind them? Honestly, that image alone might power the Big Island for a week. The way Grant gently kissed Opal’s forehead, the sweet giggles, the bouquet bursting with island color, it all felt like the perfect culmination of their love story

From the sea breeze to the joy on their kids’ faces, this Big Island wedding was full of heart, laughter, and island sunshine. Opal and Grant’s “forever” is just beginning, and it couldn’t have started in a more magical way. Congratulations, you two!

Jennifer and James’ Big Island elopement was a beautiful blend of love, family, and the ocean—a perfect match for Jennifer, an avid scuba diver! There are love stories that slowly unfold, and then there are ones like Jeremy and Connie’s Big Island elopement. A story where two people meet (on Hinge, thank you very much), immediately know, and jump all in with their hearts wide open.
Jeremy, a mental health therapist, and Connie, a personal fitness trainer, knew exactly what they wanted. After a year of hiking, traveling, and chasing live music together (Nashville concerts included), Jeremy proposed on Connie’s birthday trip in October with a ring, a question, and the most iconic response ever: “Hell yeah!”
When it came to their wedding, they didn’t want the hoopla. Just love. Just meaning. And just them. Kukio Beach on the Big Island, where Jeremy once lived and they had already fallen in love with during a December trip became their perfect place to say “I do.”

And oh, it was beautiful. Intimate, simple, and full of aloha spirit. Their ceremony included traditional Hawaiian elements, ocean breezes, and so much pure joy. Connie looked radiant in her beautiful gown, tropical bouquet in hand, and smile that could rival the sun. Jeremy? Calm, centered, and beaming.
Their photography captured every glance, every laugh, and every breathtaking view. From lush greenery to glowing sand to sunset portraits that looked straight out of a romance film, it was effortlessly elegant. The light, the colors, the expressions, every photo feels like a love letter to new beginnings.

This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of second chances, of finding your person when you least expect it, and building something real, together, and on their own terms.
Jeremy and Connie, thank you for letting us witness your chapter one. Aloha, lovebirds.

Oh, but is there anything more romantic than running barefoot into the waves with the person who just became your forever, the Big Island sun sinking low and golden behind you? Because that’s exactly how Jerry and Lacey sealed their “I do’s,” and if you’re already picturing the movie scene version, good. Because that’s what it felt like.
Their Big Island elopement at Kukio Beach was, in a word, magic. The kind of serene, tropical perfection that makes you forget there’s a world outside of palm trees, salt air, and two people who’ve just pulled off the greatest love story plot twist ever…

Now, you’ll want the backstory, of course, and it’s a good one. Lacey was Jerry’s bartender for years, she knew his drink order and his stories. Over time, that bartender-patron familiarity turned into a real-deal friendship, the kind where you just know this is your person.
And for their elopement? Only the most serene setting would do: Kukio Beach. It was quiet, private, and shimmering with that unmistakable Hawaii magic. Their ceremony was intimate, simple, meaningful, and the kind of vulnerability that makes vows feel sacred: no guests, no timeline stress, just two people choosing each other by the water’s edge.

Capturing their Big Island elopement was a joy. You can deny feeling the emotion and pure love in these portraits! It was all so Lacey and Jerry: genuine, funny, full of heart.

The best part? After tying the knot, they didn’t just stroll off into the sunset, they ran into it. Literally, straight into the water, still dressed in their wedding clothes, completely carefree. Their joy was contagious, and it was just how they had imagined their big day would end. Perfectly (and a little salty!)

Here’s to true love and the magic of saying “I do” in paradise! Congrats, you two!

Sometimes, love stories feel like they were pulled straight from the pages of a novel—the kind with dog-eared corners, a little sun on the cover, and a message in a bottle. Christian and Jasmin’s is exactly that kind of story and perfectly describes their Big Island beach wedding. They met in 2010 at a club

Let’s start with the facts: fifteen years of marriage is a big deal. Like, standing ovation, extra slice of cake, hug-your-person-a-little-tighter kind of big. And for Brandon and Catherine, that milestone deserved more than just a nice dinner out. It called for something meaningful and a Big Island vow renewal. Something sun-soaked and heart-forward. Something, naturally, in Kona.
Because when Hawaii is your favorite place and when your love story has already weathered long-distance stretches, built a life, raised a son, and found joy in serving others, renewing your vows here just makes sense.
Brandon and Catherine met in 2008 through an online connection, and from the beginning, it was intentional. It wasn’t a whirlwind or a swipe-right situation. It was a courtship. Long-distance at first, but grounded in purpose and faith. They were married on May 10, 2010, and over the years, they’ve built a life that reflects what they value most: service, health, community, and love.
So when their 15th anniversary rolled around, they knew they wanted to mark it with something that mirrored the heart of their relationship, relaxed, simple, and deeply beautiful.

Cue Royal Kona Resort. With the ocean gently crashing behind them, Catherine walked toward Brandon in a soft white gown, the moment echoing their wedding day in the most graceful, full-circle kind of way. Their son Pearce, now 25, was there alongside other loved ones, watching them reaffirm the promises they made all those years ago.
It was peaceful. Intimate. Honest.
No fanfare, no stress, just two people looking at each other with the kind of quiet joy that only comes from truly knowing someone. Loving someone for who they are, and who they’ve become.
The vow renewal was more than symbolic. It was a celebration of everything they’ve built together: a marriage grounded in service, a life of shared purpose, and a partnership that continues to evolve. Their shared love for health, fitness, and their community is a reflection of the intentional way they live, and that same intention came through in every part of their day.

And the photography? It was every bit as stunning as you’d expect. The colors were soft and romantic, with the ocean providing the perfect soundtrack. There were candid moments of laughter, glances filled with history, and a few happy tears (the best kind). Each image feels like a snapshot of what enduring love looks like, calm, strong, and quietly radiant.
Brandon and Catherine’s Big Island vow renewal wasn’t just about looking back. It was a joyful, heartfelt way to say: We’d do it all again. And we are.

Congratulations, Brandon and Catherine! Fifteen years, and it’s still just the beginning.

Jenny and Carson’s Big Island elopement was nothing short of romantic! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Anaehoʻomalu Bay, their intimate ceremony was a true celebration of love and connection. Let’s talk about elopements, the quiet ones, the intentional ones, the kind where no one is stress-sweating over seating charts or folding napkins into complicated origami. The kind where it’s just two people, the ocean, their vows, and a feeling so peaceful it practically hums in the air. That was exactly the energy of Rose and Geovani’s Big Island elopement, and honestly? We’re still floating in the calm glow of it.
Rose and Geovani met in 2022 at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Elk Grove, California. The spark? Immediate. The connection? Effortless. Geovani later surprised Rose at one of her artisan jewelry pop-up events, stayed the whole time, helped her pack up, then asked her to dinner. So sweet right? Fast forward to a riverside gazebo proposal during a snowy family trip to Mt. Shasta, and their love story continued to unfold like something out of a novel you don’t want to put down.
Both self-made and deeply grounded in their wellness-driven, purpose-filled lives, Rose is a Reiki and holistic therapist (and jewelry alchemist), while Geovani is a fitness coach—their days are full of movement, intention, and meaning. They balance each other perfectly: she’s a meditation-loving night owl, he’s an early-rising gym enthusiast. Together, they parent two beautiful children, Dre and Kailani, and share a home with their very well-loved cat, Nami.
When it came time to plan a wedding, there was no hesitation. A traditional event just didn’t align with their rhythm. They were already planning a family trip to the Big Island, and somewhere in the beautiful chaos of family logistics and packing toddler snacks, Geovani asked, “Should we elope while we’re there?” Rose said yes without skipping a beat!

It all came together at Kukio Beach, a quiet, breathtaking stretch of coastline where the ocean meets lava rock and the sky opens up in that Big Island kind of way. There were no crowds, no elaborate timelines, no distractions. Just the two of them, sharing vows that carried the weight of presence, intention, and deep love. It was peaceful, spiritual, and symbolic in every way that mattered.
For Rose, Hawai‘i is already home to family and ancestral roots. Her father was born and raised in Kona, and her connection to the islands runs deep. It made perfect sense to begin this new chapter in a place where the sea has always spoken to her. Their daughter’s name, Kailani, meaning “heavenly sea,” felt like a poetic full-circle moment, tying generations and hearts together in the most meaningful way.

As the sun slipped lower in the sky, casting golden light across the sand, we captured images that reflected exactly who they are: grounded, radiant, and completely aligned. Their elopement wasn’t about doing less, it was about focusing more on what truly mattered. And that’s where the magic lives.

And the photos? Absolutely stunning. Rose and Geovani’s elopement portraits feel like a love letter to Hawai‘i itself, bathed in golden light, filled with joy, and kissed by ocean breeze. Everything aligned in that quietly magical way only the Big Island can offer. The waves rolled gently in the background, the lava rocks added depth and texture, and the sky shifted into the softest shades of gold and peach as the sun set behind them.
It was as if the island was blessing every frame.
You can feel the warmth in the images—not just from the sunlight, but from the deep connection between them. The way they looked at each other, completely present. The peace in their body language. It was Hawai‘i in every sense, earth, sea, sky, and heart, all captured in portraits that reflect their calm, intentional, deeply loving energy.

Congratulations, Rose and Geovani. Your elopement was everything a wedding should be, intentional, heartfelt, and overflowing with love.

There’s something truly magical about a beach wedding, and Zachary and Ludmila’s Big Island beach wedding celebration was no exception. Sometimes, love stories feel like they were pulled straight from the pages of a novel—the kind with dog-eared corners, a little sun on the cover, and a message in a bottle. Christian and Jasmin’s is exactly that kind of story and perfectly describes their Big Island beach wedding.
They met in 2010 at a club in Zurich (very movie meet-cute, right?), and after just a few dates, they both just knew. Fast-forward to the summer of 2024: they’re hiking in the Black Forest. Mandy the Parson Russell Terrier trotting alongside them like the loyal sidekick she is. At a quiet lake, Christian casually pulls out a message in a bottle. Yes, an actual bottle—containing a love letter to Jasmin. One heartfelt read later, he’s down on one knee. Cue all the swooning!

For their wedding, they chose something that reflected their love perfectly—intimate, meaningful, and just for them. Kukio Beach on the Big Island delivered exactly that. Though Jasmin had visited Oahu years ago, this was both of their first time on the Big Island—and it felt like it was waiting just for them.
The beach was soft and golden, the ocean calm and sparkling, and for a few magical hours, it felt like they had the entire world to themselves. No distractions, no pressure. Just two people who’ve loved each other for 14 years, finally saying “yes” to forever. Their Big Island beach wedding was everything they dreamed of and more.

They laughed, they held hands, they kissed like it was the beginning (because it was), and made memories that will live in their hearts—and photo frames—for the rest of their lives. Just the two of them. Congrats, you two!

Let’s be real—Matthew and Melissa’s Big Island venue wedding at the Royal Kona Resort? Absolute perfection. Picture this: golden sunset light, palm trees whispering sweet nothings, and two ridiculously adorable humans pledging forever.

Matthew strolled down that tropical aisle like he owned the place (which, let’s be honest, he kind of did). Arm-in-arm with his mother, rocking a blue suit that should be illegal? Yeah, Melissa never stood a chance.

And then—oh, then—Melissa appeared. White gown. Bouquet of dreams. Dad on her arm. Matthew’s face? Priceless. If his smile got any wider, we’d have to call a dentist.

Beneath a breezy tropical gazebo (take that, boring chapels), these two said “I do” with the Pacific roaring its approval. The officiant’s Hawaiian attire? Absolutely perfect. Melissa’s smile? Outshining the Hawaiian sun – which, let’s be honest, couldn’t compete.

Big Island wedding venues don’t get more cinematic than this. Royal Kona Resort offered towering palms, a thatched gazebo, and front-row seats for the Pacific—a trifecta for destination wedding venues Big Island couples crave. (Take notes, Pinterest.)

Matthew draped a white orchid flower lei over Melissa’s shoulders. She countered with a ti leaf lei for him. It was basically floral armor for their hearts. Cue the awwws.

Matthew slid that ring on Melissa’s finger like it was his life’s mission. Her smile? Soft. The ocean’s soundtrack hypnotically romantic.

Their lips met. Guests cheered. Somewhere, a palm tree sighed enviously. It was the kind of kiss that makes you believe in love. And in destination wedding magic.

Hand in hand, they floated back down the aisle. Newlywed glow? Check. Ocean backdrop? Check. Guests blinking back happy tears? Absolutely!

The groomsmen hoisted Matthew like he’d just won the Super Bowl. His thumbs-up? Iconic. Their laughter? Contagious. The photographer’s shutter finger? Overworked.

Melissa and her squad laughed on the lawn, champagne dresses glowing, bouquets popping. It was part fashion shoot, part lovefest—100% frame-worthy.

Melissa stood on the perfectly manicured lawn at the Royal Kona Resort, looking like she’d casually stepped out of a bridal magazine. Her gown? Effortlessly romantic, like the dress version of a Taylor Swift love song. She held a bouquet of crisp white blooms—simple, elegant, and very “I woke up like this.”

Melissa and Matthew stood in their sunlit ceremony space, the ocean shimmering gently behind them. Beside the thatched altar, still echoing their vows, they shared the sweetest kiss. It was tender, unhurried—like the world had given them this moment to just be. Surrounded by swaying palms and the soft rustle of the breeze, they looked completely at home in love.

They walked hand in hand, like two people who just found out their favorite person felt the exact same way. Melissa’s dress flowed like a love song, and Matthew looked at her like she’d hung the moon. Everything about this moment screamed forever—and maybe a little bit of “how did we get this lucky?”

Matthew and Melissa, thank you for choosing Simple Hawaii Wedding to bring your Big Island wedding at the Royal Kona Resort to life. From your heartfelt vows under the gazebo to that sweet lei exchange, every moment was full of meaning. We’re so grateful to have been part of such a beautiful beginning—mahalo and cheers to what’s next!

So, you’re thinking about eloping. Maybe you don’t want the stress of a big wedding. Maybe the thought of a seating chart gives you actual nightmares! Or maybe you and your partner are just really into the idea of an ultra-luxurious, stress-free, oceanfront ceremony where the hardest decision you have to make is which cocktail to toast with after saying “I do.”
Whatever your reason, let’s talk about Hawaii. More specifically, the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Big Island—which, fun fact, was just named the #1 Hotel in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. No big deal. Just the most stunning, romantic, and ridiculously gorgeous resort on the planet. The kind of place where you half-expect a movie star to casually sip espresso next to you at breakfast. And now, you can get married there with our brand-new luxury elopement package for up to 12 guests.

First things first: The ceremony for your Hawaii elopement. You and your partner will exchange vows right on the oceanfront, with waves crashing in the background like a perfectly timed soundtrack to your love story. A beautifully crafted wooden arch with tropical florals will frame the moment, and you can choose between elegant chairs or rustic wood benches for the ultimate intimate setting. Also included? A two-hour photography session with Karma Hill Photography, an award-winning Hawaii photography company. Because, let’s be honest, if there aren’t stunning, frame-worthy photos, did it even happen? Their team will capture every windswept, sun-drenched, “oh my god, we actually did this” moment, giving you breathtaking images to relive your wedding day forever.

Unlike a big wedding (which, let’s be real, can feel like a full-time job), this experience is seamless. We provide a day of ceremony coordinator to make sure every detail is handled. They’ll even assist you with booking your on-property marriage license appointment, so all you have to do is show up and get legally hitched at your Hawaii elopement.

Eloping at the Four Seasons Hualalai doesn’t just mean saying “I do” in paradise. It means getting the full five-star experience, which includes:
✅ A golf cart for one hour of sunset photos (because if you’re eloping in Hawaii, you must have sunset photos—it’s basically a rule)
✅ Steaming & pressing of your wedding attire (because wrinkles belong in history books, not on wedding dresses)
✅ Luxury SUV transfers to and from Kona International Airport (so you roll in like the VIPs you are)
✅ A “Surprise & Delight” on your wedding night (We won’t tell you what it is, but trust us—it’s good.)
The magic doesn’t end when the ceremony does. Whether you want an intimate dinner for two or a celebration with your closest friends and family (up to 12 guests), Four Seasons Hualalai offers incredible options after your Hawaii elopement:
✨ **A romantic oceanfront dinner at Ulu Restaurant ** – Imagine toasting to your love under the stars with a gourmet meal, waves softly crashing in the background. The perfect way to start your new chapter together.
✨ A private beachfront dinner for up to 12 guests – If you’re bringing your inner circle, you can enjoy an exclusive, oceanfront dining experience. Think candlelit tables, personalized menus, and a setting so magical it feels straight out of a movie.
✨ Luxury resort dining options – If you’d rather keep it spontaneous, the resort boasts some of the most acclaimed dining experiences in Hawaii, featuring fresh, locally sourced cuisine.

Here’s the deal: To book this package, you’ll need to stay at the resort for at least two nights. But that’s actually a perk because you’ll get 20% off the best available rate at the time of booking. More time to enjoy the pools, spa, and world-class dining? Yes, please.

Look, if you’ve been dreaming of an intimate, wildly romantic, no-stress wedding in one of the most beautiful places in the world, this is your sign. The Four Seasons Hualalai is truly next-level—think lava rock pools, private beaches, and the kind of sunsets that make people emotional.
So, go ahead. Elope. Do it in style. And let us handle the rest.

Jenny and Carson’s Big Island elopement was nothing short of romantic! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Anaehoʻomalu Bay, their intimate ceremony was a true celebration of love and connection. As the sun began to dip, casting a warm, blushy-pink glow across the sky, Jenny and Carson said “I do” by the shore, surrounded by nothing but the sound of the waves and the most perfect light.
It was truly an experience to savor. Every moment was steeped in beauty and emotion. Jenny looked absolutely radiant in her lace dress, and Carson was the picture of dashing elegance. Together, they exuded joy and love, and their happiness was contagious to everyone around them. The couple had the best time, soaking in each precious second of their special day!

Jenny and Carson’s love story began in the most modern way—on Hinge! Their first conversation was an instant connection, sparked by their shared love for Harry Potter and dogs (both mentioned in Jenny’s profile). This lighthearted exchange quickly led to a coffee date, where they found even more to talk about. Just three hours later, they were already planning their next outing. What started as a simple dinner date soon turned into an unforgettable evening. After enjoying a delicious meal, they took a stroll through downtown, eventually arriving at a local park nestled in the heart of the city. There, standing by the river, they shared their first kiss—a moment that would forever mark the beginning of something beautiful.
Fast forward 11 months to Jenny’s birthday. Carson, ever the romantic, decided to recreate that magical second date. They returned to the same restaurant and retraced the steps of their first date, walking to the very spot by the river where they had shared that unforgettable kiss. But this time, there were roses waiting. With the same sense of magic in the air, Carson got down on one knee and proposed, turning that perfect moment into the start of their next great adventure together…

What made it even more incredible was how simple and intimate the day was. With an all-in-one package, they didn’t have to worry about the stress of organizing each detail. The photography, which was a major draw for the couple, was truly stunning, capturing the love and warmth they shared in each frame. It was as if time slowed down, allowing them to just enjoy the moment—no distractions, no rush…

This elopement was everything Jenny and Carson dreamed of and more. It was a beautiful, personal, and special day that they will remember forever. A new adventure on the Big Island was the perfect way to begin their next chapter together, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations, Jenny and Carson! Here’s the thing about love: sometimes it doesn’t need the fanfare, the elaborate décor, or a long guest list. Sometimes, love is just two people standing by the shore, hand in hand, promising forever—and that’s exactly what Jesse and Michelle’s Big Island elopement was all about. No frills, no fluff. Just the two of them, pure and simple, with the breathtaking backdrop of Puako Beach.
Michelle looked stunning as she made her entrance, barefoot and radiant, walking toward Jesse with the ocean breeze carrying every step. You could feel the calm, the love, the quiet magic in the air. When she reached him by the shore, it was like the world paused for a moment—just them and the sound of the waves.
Their ceremony was sweet and understated, yet incredibly meaningful. Incorporating Hawaiian traditions into their vows added a special touch, grounding the experience in the beauty of the islands and the deep love they share. As they exchanged “I dos,” they looked so happy it could melt even the most cynical of hearts. Seriously, someone cue the romantic soundtrack because this was a movie moment!

And then there was the sunset. Oh, the sunset. It stretched across the sky, wrapping their newlywed moments in golden light and pastel hues. They soaked it all in, just the two of them, savoring every second—no distractions, no rush, just pure joy!

Jesse and Michelle’s elopement was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most powerful moments in life are the simplest. Congratulations, you two! Wishing you a lifetime of sunsets as magical as the one that started your forever!
