Some love stories feel written by steady hands and open skies, grounded, adventurous, and quietly miraculous. For Allison and Jason, their Big Island beach wedding at Puako was exactly that: relaxed, rustic, faith-filled, and wrapped in the kind of beauty that makes your heart go still for a moment.
Their story began the way all modern fairy tales do, with a dating app and a hiking photo. Allison spotted Jason trekking the Trans-Catalina Trail and messaged him with a knowing, “I’ve hiked that trail before.” From there, it was surfing dates, sushi nights, and five years of making long distance look like commitment in motion. When Jason proposed years later on a remote Catalina beach with a bottle-in-the-sand surprise, it felt like the most perfect full-circle promise.
When the idea of a Big Island trip to visit Maddie at YWAM came up, something clicked. Why not get married while they were there? No courthouse. No fuss. Just vows exchanged on the sand of one of God’s most breathtaking creations. Their ceremony at Puako Beach was simple and sacred. Allison in her boho lace gown with warm tan undertones, Jason and the boys in khakis and flip-flops, the girls in soft olive green… It was a beautiful day, and we’re so excited to share moments from their ceremony!

The ocean was gentle behind them, and their faith was at the center of every word. The day felt peaceful. Intentional. Holy in the quietest way.
Together, this blended family of adventurers with five incredible kids between them builds a life rooted in hard work, trail miles, farm dirt, and wide-open dreams. And on that sun-soaked stretch of Big Island shoreline, they chose each other with joy, trust, and a whole lot of gratitude.

After the ceremony, Allison and Jason slipped away for their newlywed portraits, and the magic only deepened. Puako Beach glowed in soft, honey-gold light as the sun drifted lower, turning the ocean into rippled glass and the sand into warm champagne. Allison’s lace gown caught the breeze just right, fluttering delicately with every step, while Jason held her close, steady and smiling like he couldn’t believe this was real, like he’d somehow stepped into the very dream he’d been praying for.
The lava rock framing the beach added drama, the ocean added rhythm, and their love filled the space between everything else. Every portrait felt honest and glowing, not posed perfection, but the kind of beauty that comes from two people completely at peace with their forever.

Congratulations, Allison and Jason! Your wedding was a testament to love that’s steady, faithful, and beautifully free!

They made their special day unforgettable by choosing to get married in Hawaii, surrounded by their closest family and friends. And what a beautiful decision that was!
Held at the stunning Royal Kona Resort, their wedding was intimate, fun, and filled with love. Tram looked radiant as she made her way down the aisle. She adores the beach, ocean, and cooking (and is currently getting her scuba certification!) Matthew was all smiles as he watched his bride approach! So together, they share a love for exploring, trying new restaurants, and their latest addiction—golfing! However, on this day, it was all about celebrating their love!
The ceremony’s beautiful stone altar carried the significance of the moment with the waves crashing in the background. It was the making of an incredibly meaningful setting to exchange their vows. Keep reading to see more!

After the ceremony, they headed to the nearby rocks for some absolutely stunning newlywed portraits. Moreover, the ocean breeze, the golden sunset, and the joy on their faces made the photos extra special—it was breathtaking!

Their Big Island venue wedding day was everything they hoped for: intimate, fun, and surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Mariah and Jason’s Big Island venue wedding was filled with love, tradition, and the joy of starting a new chapter together! With their two adorable children, Greyson and Freya, by their side, they celebrated one of the biggest moments of their lives! We were honored they entrusted Simple Hawaii Wedding for their special day. Keep reading to see how their day unfolded!

For Mariah and Jason, intimacy and tradition were key elements they wanted to incorporate into their special day. With a desire for a smaller, more meaningful celebration, they opted for a venue that would allow them to share their love with their closest family and friends. And what’s even better they were all right on the sand! The Royal Kona Resort provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate gathering, with its picturesque views and tranquil ambiance setting the stage for a day they would never forget.

As Mariah walked down the aisle, radiant in her lace gown, and Jason stood waiting with a big smile. Beforehand, they told us they were feeling a mixture of excitement, joy, and a little bit of nerves all rolled into one! It’s totally natural to feel about a moment they have been waiting for their entire lives! Surrounded by loved ones, they exchanged vows, sealing their commitment to each other with a kiss.

Their ceremony blended tradition and personal touches beautifully, with traditional Native American elements woven throughout. These sacred rituals added a deeper layer of meaning to their union, honoring their heritage and the journey that brought them together. Naturally, there were a few tears shed during the ceremony! It meant so much to the couple to incorporate their kids and their culture with touches of aloha too. The result was just what they envisioned thanks to our fantastic team and vendors!

After the ceremony, the newlyweds took a moment to capture the day’s magic with elegant portraits by the water’s edge. Against the backdrop of the ocean, they looked positively radiant! We couldn’t be happier for them both! Mariah and Jason were so grateful for the love that surrounded them and the journey that had brought them to this very moment in paradise.

Congratulations Mariah and Jason! We hope you had an amazing day! It was a joy to work with you both. We wish you a lifetime of love and joy with your family! Enjoy your time in Hawaii!
